LIC Artists promotes area artists and provides the public with experiences that highlight the dynamic role the arts play in enriching community life. It was founded in 1986 aiming to increase the visibility of professional visual artists working in the Long Island City area, expand the range of opportunities available for area artists, develop a sense of community and camaraderie among area artists, and create and promote public art events and projects for the cultural enrichment of the Queens community.
