Norton Fields Allotments

このサイトについて
Allotments not only provide the opportunity to grow good food at a low cost but offer recreational opportunities, exercise and social interaction. They are a unique urban resource which should be cherished and revitalised.
Swansea's allotments vary in management between the City and County of Swansea and independent management committees. This site is owned by the council.
The MOre Green Project has an allotment on this site which is used by the community including school children and the Mentro Allan project. For more info on MOre Green see http://www.moregreen.org.uk/.
Swansea Council and MOre Green are both part of the Swansea Community Recycling Alliance & Partnership (SCRAP) which includes organisations and businesses involved in promoting sustainable waste management. The project has been given street benches and paving slabs, which were taken out of the city centre during the ongoing improvement scheme to Oxford Street and adjoining streets. Mo Green, Director of the community based organisation is thrilled with the gifts and claims the benches and paving slabs will enhance the newly created city allotment. "The benches and paving slabs will help create seating areas and shelters for our groups, particularly on days when the weather isn't great."
