About Hatteras Island

Our map shows important cultural and natural resources on Hatteras Island. Hatteras Island is an Outer Banks barrier island located about 25 miles from the mainland, and bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Pamlico Sound. Seven small villages - Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras - adjoin the Cape Hatteras National Seashore on the island. The island's most popular icon, the black and white spiral-striped Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, built in 1870, keeps watch over a martime culture indelibly shaped by the island's unique natural ecosystem.

Do you have any genealogy books for David O'Neal b. 1575 married to Morning Dew b. 1575? He was on John Whites ship returning to search for the lost colony.

Wow.. That sounds so heroic Rasmus Midgett House (Hatteras Realty Waves Office) Anonymous

Wow.. That sounds so heroic and he does deserves this honor. But, my question is that, what or how exactly does it contributes to the art and history of our country? And how are they going to protect or preserve this place?
