Owner's name was Everette Lee Highwall (120 Lloyd Road) Anonymous

Owner's name was Everette Lee DeGolyer.
He was an oilman and did work in Mexico but was not the discoverer of the first oil deposits.
However, in 1910, at the age of 24 and while working for one of the many oil companies in Mexico, he chose the location of a very famous oil well, Potrero del Llano #4 which came in producing 100,000 barrels of oil per day.
He sold Highwall and moved to Dallas in 1936.

I hope that Montclair will Slave House (369 Claremont Avenue) Anonymous

I hope that Montclair will not let the building fall into complete disrepair, as it appears to be doing. It had been occupied up until a few years ago; it now looks empty with a few of the windows boarded up. I have seen similar buildings awaiting renovation in Newark, allowed to sink into complete decay, and subsequently (and conveniently) torn down.
