Ruth Park Woods
Visão geral
The Ruth Park Woods are 26 acres of oak/hickory hardwood forest, and is the last such stand in St. Louis county. The Ruth Park Woods are crisscrossed with trails and walking paths and are a great place to go sauntering on nice days. Also a great bird watching site with nearly a hundred different species of birds sighted, including local species as well as visitors from tropical rain forests flying to the Arctic tundra. This area is completely open to the public. The University City Green Center is actively involved in preserving these woods and programs include:
-non-native, invasive plant removal (bush honeysuckle, euonymus, etc.)
-debris removal
-native tree, shrub, and wildflower plantings
