Lily's Eggs

Overview
Not your typical farm, Lily's Eggs is a company run by Robert Tropper and Diana Tuomey that prides itself on the free range eggs they sell at local farmers markets and restaurants that value the high quality of egg they distribute. Rather than keep their chickens cooped up, the chickens are true free range chickens; they run around as they please and feast upon earthworms and vegetarian delicacies such as wheat sprouts, soybeans, milo, corn, and over-ripe strawberries. Tropper also considers the happiness of the chickens and other breeds of poultry he raises extremely valuable when running his business. He contends that chickens are extremely intelligent, despite the beliefs of many, and says that he has had chickens who have come to greet him at times. This egg-farmer considers the well-being of the chicken extremely vital to his business.

If I neglected to bring your eggs into the refrigerator until after a long day in a warm car, are the eggs still safe to eat?
- AnonymousIt is important for everyone to know that they DO NOT KILL the male chicks alive when first born. I wish they would put that in an article and start a Facebook page.
I love your eggs so much and will go to the ends of the earth to find them. I only know of one local farmer's market to get them but I know they are selling them in other areas for sure in Los Angeles.
You guys rock.

- AnonymousWhere can I get your eggs. In the past I bought them at Geilsens, but they no longer have them and knowing what I do about the humane/good life you provide your Chickens, I will eat no other.
Where can I find them in South Orange County?

Thank you for wonderful eggs and the good life you provide your Chickens. You two are role models.

- AnonymousLily's Eggs can be found at the Mariner's Church Farmer's Market (formerly the market at UCI). They list it as Irvine, but going there today, it seems like it would be Newport Beach off of Bonita Canyon.. I've been asking every egg seller everywhere I go if they buy their hens from a hatcherie (which means the male chicks are killed and in a heinously atrocious way). The man selling the eggs said they may have purchased their first hen or hens from a hatcherie but from those, Lily's hatches their own now. I was told that they're also at the Laguna Hills Mall farmer's market every Friday morning.
- AnonymousI noticed that Lily's Eggs is no longer at Mariner's Church Farmers market (Saturday) and no longer at Tustin market (Wednesday). Where are you selling eggs at this time?
- AnonymousSelling at Friday Farmer's market in Venice - by the library on Venice Blvd. Selling at the Santa Monica Farmer's markets at Arizona and 3rd, I believe both on Wednesday and Saturday and possibly at the SM market on Sunday at California Heritage Museum parking lot at Ocean Park Blvd and Main St. Those are the ones I know about - there may be others. I always get the "fertile Myrtle" eggs as they have more nutritional components.
