Bon Secours Maryland Foundation (center for the hospital) composts and uses green technology to keep the surrounding area clean and green. Through its partnership with Operation Reach Out SouthWest, BSMF created Clean & Green, an on-the-job-training landscaping program that has transformed and maintains more than 85 vacant lots into attractive and well-maintained green spaces, and has also begun to initiate community arts projects: large public murals, youth projects, garden projects, community newsletters, annual Harvest Festival and community heritage projects.
