The primary purpose of this project is to beautify the landscape along the I-95 corridor between Hermitage Road and Franklin Street. This project also includes landscaping at the Nine Mile Road/I-64 interchange on the eastern border of Richmond at the Henrico County line and the I-95/I-64 interchange at 5th Street.

The landscaping will include improvements at approaches, entrances and exits along I-95 leading to the local streets. In addition, a gateway sign will be installed near the I-95 north and I-64 east split

Enhancements began in December 2011 and is expected to be complete by the end of 2016. Landscaping work at the I-64/Nine Mile Road interchange and the I-95/I-64 interchange at 5th Street is complete.

The final phase of the project is currently underway; including landscaping improvements at Interstate 95 and the Boulevard (mile marker 78) and a new gateway sign at the Interstate 95 north-Interstate 64 east split.
