Road Safety Education - Scholar Patrols

The City’s traffic officers do way more than patrol the streets; their job includes promoting road safety, especially for pedestrians. For Traffic Services’ Road Safety Education section, kids come first. The department facilitates 182 scholar patrol teams at primary schools across the metro, and provides training, equipment and monitoring. The programme creates awareness, instils a sense of responsibility and enhances safety for young – and other – pedestrians.
