A quarter mile from the Green Center, next to Brittany Woods Middle School, is the Green Center’s half-acre prairie. This prairie was planted in 1990 by Ed Murray, who was a science teacher at the school.This prairie contains taller grasses like big bluestem and Indian grass, white wild indigo, and many other plants and grasses. The Green Center prairie is a teaching tools for the science classes and summer camps that the Center offers to students throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.
