Dubuque 2.0 is a community led initiative that engages Dubuque businesses, schools, neighborhoods, and non-profits to increase long-lasting sustainability efforts, opportunities and create community wide carbon-reducing lifestyle changes and the motivations to do so. The initiative began in late 2009 as a partnership between the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque and the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce, which have, historically, had great success engaging the community, beginning with Envision 2010. Our unique approach of our community to cooperatively incorporate business, citizenry, and local government approaching sustainability to engage the entire community in an economically viable sustainability effort will ensure our success. The Dubuque 2.0 website will be an online resource where citizens and community leaders can come together to learn best practices, share tips, stories, and experiences. www.dubuque2.org is where specific and clearly defined information will, for the first time ever, be available and shared with everyone regarding use of electricity, water, gas, and other resources that will allow them to understand how their individual choices impact their costs, their use, and the environment.
