The 36ha reserve is located within the
Umbogintwini Industrial Complex. Depending on the water level, a variety of waterbirds are attracted to the dams and wetlands. Of interest is the Cape Teal which is scarce elsewhere in Durban.

Driving Directions: Travel on the N2 south from Durban to Amanzimtoti.
Take the Moss Kolnik/KwaMakhutha off-ramp and turn right. Travel west for 1km along Moss Kolnik Drive then turn right into the Umbogintwini complex. The reserve is located on the right, just past the security checkpoint.
