Located in Tompkins Square Park, this neo-classical fountain was donated in 1888 by Henry D. Cogswell. The stone structure shows the words Faith, Hope, Charity and Temperance. The fountain symbolizes his dedication to promote residents to drink the clean fountain drinking water, rather than alcoholic beverage.

Dieser neo-klassische Brunnen inmitten des Tompkins Square Parks wurde 1888 von Henry D. Cogswell gespendet. Die Steinskulptur zeigt die Worte Glauben, Hoffnung, Barmherzigkeit und Mäßigkeit. Entsprechend seiner Widmung soll der Brunnen die Anwohner dazu antreiben anstelle von Alkohol sein sauberes Wasser zu trinken.
