This is the site where colonists established the first permanent European settlement. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

* Animal Forest - a 22-acre zoo home to animals the original settlers encountered, including pumas, bison, alligators, black bears, otters, bobcats and wolves.
* The Adventure - A life-size reproduction of a typical trading ship of the 17th century
* Experimental Crop Garden - Features plants the Lords Proprietors, the colony's British investors, instructed the settlers to investigate, including indigo, rice, sugar cane and cotton.
