"Givhans Ferry State Park is a great place to take a picnic lunch and spend a day getting back to nature. The park offers several relaxing as well as rejuvenating activities. You can cast a line in the Edisto River where you can reel in flathead, various types of catfish red breast, largemouth or striped bass, shell crackers, and eels. Or you may want to spend some time (7-9 hours depending on the current) paddling down the 23 mile canoe trail between Colleton and Givhans Ferry. There is also a moderate 1.5 hiking trail where you can see the Edisto River from the bluffs above."
