Sorae historical Museum is located near Sorae port. Sorae historical museum consists of two floors and four exhibition halls. First hall is about Sorae mud flat, second is about Suin Line, third is about Sorae salt pond, and the last hall is about Soraepogu. It is built to remind the citizens of the past when Sorae was manipulated by Japan for transportation of military and agricultural goods.
The Suin-Line Rail Narrow Gauge Train was designed to transport Suni-Line, carrying rice in Yongin and Yeoju and salt in Sorae, and transported it to Japan via Incheon Port.
Suin-Line is a railway built in 1937 to transport munitions.
Sorae Port was the best place to produce salt. Japan needed salt to make weapon for the Sino-Japanese War. They used train because it was good to transport in a large scale. Since Incheon is good for water transport and making salt, it has been used for manipulation since the era of colonization of Japan.
Suin Line was started from Suwon Station for a major distribution center. By transporting rice, produced in Suwon, Japan tried to make Korea as a base for food storage. However, despite its historical values, the Sorae port and the Soo-in Line are not being preserved well, so the government needs to employ more systematic measures to preserve them better.
