History:

The East Greenwich Library rain garden was installed as part of the drinking water conservation project. The New Jersey Water Savers project provides water conservation demonstration projects to pilot communities in New Jersey. One of the pilot communities is East Greenwich Township.

The East Greenwich Library rain garden manages stormwater from the East Greenwich Library building.

Installation:

The East Greenwich Library rain garden was installed in fall 2009 by volunteers in East Greenwich Township, AmeriCorp Watershed Ambassadors, and Rutgers Cooperative Extension Water Resources Program faculty and staff.

The rain garden is maintained by the Master Gardeners of Gloucester County.
