Ruffing Montessori School, a LEED certified school, offers a healthy and safe learning and working environment in an atmosphere dedicated to teaching the principles of sustainable living. Students experience a graded curriculum from Toddler through Eighth Grade that teaches the ideas, the vocabulary and the technology behind the school's commitment to a greener way of living. Within the school, activities and features like composting, recycling, reusing, understanding geothermal energy, using solar energy, local purchasing, carpooling and bicycle riding, no-waste lunches, as well as the school's use of low VOC products, are part of the students' educational experience.
