Birch Coffee shop serves coffee, breakfast, salads, sandwiches, beer, and wine. They try to only serve food that is local, organic, or sustainable and ideally a combination of all three. Their coffee is roasted locally, they serve food harvested as locally as possible, and they use Rainforest Alliance and bird friendly coffee and tea. All wood in the shop is from FSC certified growing farms. This means that the trees were planted to be cut down and takes away from deforestation. Their counter tops are made from recycled concrete and installed with environmentally friendly sealant. They compost everything from corn based iced coffee cups to coffee grounds to egg shells. They filter their water with the latest technology to ensure the best water for coffee and the best tasting tap for customers. Their kitchen and ventilation equipment are top of the line to ensure the least amount of wasted energy. All of their paints and sealers are low or no VOC and Birch has recieved a LEED silver certification from the USGBC
