Decoy Carving
Overview

Historically carved from wood and floated to attract ducks during duck hunting season, duck decoys have become works of folk art. They are still hand-carved and used in Ocracoke during duck hunting season (mid-winter) and some can be found at area gift shops. David O'Neal's Downpoint Decoys has an amazing selection of decoys from Ocracoke and from many other areas.
