Goldmine

One of many abandoned gold mines on the Vredefort World Heritage site, hikers are able to visit these mines with a guide and explore the archaeological history of the area. Geologists speculate that the cataclysmic force of the meteorite brought gold and other natural resources up to the surface immediately following the impact.
