South Africa's 7th World Heritage Site, the world famous Vredefort Dome is a geological wonder. About 2 billion years old, it is the oldest meteorite impact on Earth and boasts a staggering diameter of 250 km. Today, the dome serves as the region's most compelling attraction due not only to its heritage but also its myriad flora and fauna, wildlife, trails and eye-popping vistas.
