Greenbelt Park
Overview
Greenbelt Park is a wonderful place to discover local wildlife and take in the natural beauty of a pond ecosystem. A 5.3 mile trail traces the perimeter of the pond and allows families to remove themselves from city and suburban life. The park offers shorter trails for those who want to take a lunch break or a breather from the hustle and bustle. The park is also a center of education by way of the "Every Kid in a Park Initiative" which reaches out to families and classes to visit national parks. "This green oasis of woods and fields offers a tranquil atmosphere surrounded by Maryland suburbs, just 12 miles north of downtown Washington, D.C., and 27 miles south of Baltimore." This quiet park is enjoyable for all ages.
