Valentino Park and Pier

Visão geral
This waterfront park has many great features, not least of which is the beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty from afar. The Red Hook Boaters offer free kayaking here every Sunday afternoon from 1:00PM - 5:00PM until September 13th. Participants should wear a bathing suit, or shorts and a T-shirt, sunscreen and bring water to drink. A Red Hook Boaters volunteer will give instructions and safety tips on kayaking. Rides are limited to 15-20 minutes so everyone can have a chance to experience the fun. The Red Hook Boaters also coordinate longer trips such as open water tours to Brooklyn Bridge Park, Governor’s Island, the Gowanus Canal or along the shoreline of Red Hook through the Buttermilk Channel.

I think Valentino Park Is the coolest park I've ever been to because there is kayaking AND ITS FREE. I think they keep the water fairly clean for the people so they can kayak. I would love to go back but I live in sunset park and I'm too lazy to take a train and then a bus to get there. Besides that it's a really cool place. You should go there sometime.
- Partnerships for ParksI liked kayaking. It was a new and fun experience for me. We also tested the ph levels and coliform bacteria levels in the water. Now that I know that there's fecal matter in the water I'm probably not going to swim in the river anytime soon!
- Partnerships for ParksI liked kayaking. I had been once before but I would go back again! Jolene and all the volunteers at the Red Hook Boaters were very helpful. The free kayaking is a great opportunity for people who do not have enough money to afford kayaking another way.
- Partnerships for ParksKayaking was really fun. I don't think I've ever been kayaking before, but it was a great experience.
