SHOP RVA is a new coalition of varied community stakeholders. Shop RVA works to promote and preserve the culture and uniqueness of the Greater Richmond area by encouraging all to heavily support locally owned businesses.
On March 19th, 20th, and 21st of 2010, Shop RVA will launch Greater Richmond’s First Annual Shop Richmond Weekend; a celebration of Greater Richmond’s locally owned businesses. During this weekend, Shop RVA will encourage visitors and residents to exclusively support Greater Richmond based businesses. Shop RVA will promote local businesses along with Shop Richmond Weekend via all available traditional and grassroots media and community outlets.
In addition, on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 11am-4pm, Shop RVA and "Locally Owned Richmond" have organized "Saturday Stroll" along the 300 block of West Broad Street to encourage shopping at local businesses.
