Centro Cultural La Moneda is a modern cultural center recently inaugurated in 2006 in Santiago, under Plaza de la ciudadania (citizen square) in the southern facade of the seat of government. The Cultural Center offers access to artistic creation and to the country´s visual and audiovisual heritage, promoting its appreciation and enjoyment. This by means of large-scale exhibitions and complementary exhibits, the National Cinematheque programs, educational activities, the Art and Technology Department and the Visual Arts Documentation Center. Although the emphasis is in Chilean culture there are also international exhibitions throughout the year. Centro Cultural La Moneda is easy to access by La Moneda Subway station, with the 1 train.
