This multi-regional, integrated solid waste services company provides collection, transfer, landfill disposal and recycling services for commercial, industrial and residential customers in the United States and Canada. It serves an estimated 86,000 commercial and industrial customers and an estimated 7.2 million residential homes, and owns or operates seven landfills, 18 transfer stations, 12 recycling facilities and 33 collection companies.

Waste Services of Florida, Inc. became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2010. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
