瑞穗掃叭石柱

掃叭石柱是相鄰的兩根巨大石柱，高度分別為5.75公尺及3.99公尺。這兩根石柱位於瑞穗鄉舞鶴台地北側山坡上，面向紅葉溪谷，視野十分遼闊。
「掃叭」是阿美族話「木板」的意思，根據阿美族人的傳說，大約數百年前，有一群阿美族人來到舞鶴台地開墾，突然遇到暴風雨來襲，於是趕緊撿起附近的木板來遮雨，後來就將此地命名為「掃叭」。
由於舞鶴地區為阿美族原住民的傳統居住地區，因此在阿美族的神話傳說中，有許多跟掃叭石柱有關的故事。有一個故事是說：阿美族人在蓋房子時，必須圍繞著基地一起唱祖先留下的祈禱詞，如果有人唱錯，就會被大風颳走，所有的東西都會變成石頭，而掃叭石柱就是兩位唱錯祈禱詞的族人變成的。另一個故事則是：過去曾有一位阿美族的頭目，他的妻子產下一黑一白的雙胞胎孩子，被族人視為不祥的徵兆。為了部落的安全，頭目將這兩個孩子綁在門前木柱上，然後舉村遷移。後來這兩個孩子化身為石柱，永遠佇立在部落門前。
