Gower Wildflower and Local Produce Centre

Visão geral
The Centre showcases the range, properties and uses of local wildflowers through a series of interpretation boards and demonstration habitats such as meadows and ponds. Over 60 native flowering plant species are present on the site. The centre also offers quality seasonal, local and home-cooked food and has local craft items for sale. The deli counter offers cheese, bacon, sausages, cockles, laver bread, fresh vegetables, jams, chutneys and more. The cafe offers locally baked cakes, brownies and daily specials incorporating many of the Centre's own nursery grown herbs, salads and vegetables, and traditional Welsh recipes. Why not try their charcuterie board of locally cured meats, local breads and pickled samphire! They always have homemade seasonal soups and daily specials with much of the ingredients grown on site. From Cawl to Cassoulet enjoy freshly prepared local food in a relaxed environment. The Centre produces its own herbs, lettuces and tomatoes, so why not try one of their fresh salads. Children’s meals are available and produced from fresh local ingredients.
The Centre has a native wildflower roof which is irrigated by recycled rain water. There is also a small roundhouse on site and a number of interesting sustainable building and environmental management features including ground source energy, rainwater harvesting, a bio-digester and reed bed filter for waste water.
