A naturally wooded valley with fast flowing river habitats, this nature reserve lies 8 miles north of Swansea. Public footpaths and a nature trail provide good access (1,300m of which is suitable for wheelchair use). The nature trail includes sections of raised boardwalk through damp areas to allow access to the different types of woodland. You might see pied flycatchers, redstarts and buzzards, as well as dippers along the reaches of the Lower Clydach river.
The reserve is serviced by public transport and there is a car park.
Further Information
The RSPB was founded in 1889 and since then has grown into Europe's largest wildlife conservation charity with more than a million members.
RSPB owns 182 nature reserves, and relies mainly on charitable donations and volunteers. Volunteers bring unique qualities to the RSPB, and there are over 13,000 in the UK. That’s 9 volunteers for every paid member of staff!
