Algal Turf Scrubber Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Biohabitats and the Living Classrooms Foundation invite you to an official ribbon cutting and kick-off of the Baltimore Inner Harbor Algal Turf Scrubber (ATS) at the Living Classrooms Crossroads School campus at 802 South Caroline Street in Fells Point. This innovative eco-technology uses natural algae to strip nutrients, suspended sediment, and carbon from impaired surface waters and naturally injects high levels of oxygen into the water prior to returning to the harbor. This is a pilot system intended to demonstrate the potential for this technology to address water quality issues in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
