Israel Pinheiro bust (Head of Israel Pinheiro)
Rezumat
This head bust designed by Horacio Pecanha remembers the engineer who was invited by president Juscelino Kubitschek to undertake the construction project of the new capital, along with Oscar Niemyer and Lucio Costa, and who became the first mayor of Brasilia after its inauguration in 1960. He is the only one among the trio who still has not been honored with a memorial, which was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, but so far has not been constructed.
