BAY HARBOUR MARKET - A UNIQUELY LOCAL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

At the bottom of Harbour Road in Hout Bay, on the waters edge and with the spectacular Chapman’s Peak ever-present, there is a market that has something quite rare. A place filled with smiles and surprises. A celebration of creativity and culture....and of people!

Bay Harbour Market embraces visitors by providing a uniquely social shopping and eating experience in an atmosphere that is friendly, dynamic and entertaining. A place for all cultures and ages. A place where ‘happy shopping’ is the order of the day

Housed in an unusual original fish factory, one of the unique features of the market is that it provides an all-weekend affair for its customers, offering a range of exquisite art and craft, superb food, , fashion and jewellery, and live entertainment on what is now known as the KWV Sound Stage. Other unique offerings include the legendary Thandi Xhosa massage, as well as feather hair braids and exquisite antiques, to name but a few.

There is a strong belief in community building and upliftment with each of the 110 traders at the market having been carefully selected, not only for their uniquely crafted products (most of which are Proudly South African), but also for their freedom of spirit and joie de vivre. A truly interesting bunch of people to chat to about their offerings.

The KWV Sound Stage hosts a variety of music acts on a daily basis, bringing market visitors a monthly gig guide of live performances, with various artists across all music genres performing on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.

Bay Harbour Market is open from 5pm to 9pm for Friday Nite LIVE! and from 9.30am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Entrance is free unless otherwise stipulated.
