Chesterville Youth Centre
Overview
Chesterville Youth Centre was officially opened by Member of Executive Committee for KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government responsible for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Willies Mchunu in March 2011. This Centre is named in honour of his son, Vuyani Nkosi who was shot dead at his home in the Chesterville in 1999. The Centre is in the Old Beer Hall Building which located at 99 Mahlathi Road. The building was revamped to be use a a Youth Centre. The Centre provides necessary services such as gymnasium, internet, cafe, boardoom, wprkshop venue and crisis centre. This centre is a hub of community empowerment although targeting youth specifically. It located in the vicinity of school such as Ukukhanya kwelanga, Chris Nxumalo Primary, Chesterville Secondary and a number of churches. It is located on the hub of public transport within a walking distance to Pavillion Shopping establishment.
