The House That Lives (83 Watchung Avenue)

Overview
This historic house, a Tudor Revival house built in 1922, is listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places. It is the site of a M. Grandifloria (magnolia) tree that was the first of its species to survive outside of its native temperature range. Originally endemic to Florida, this tree has survived temperatures of -24Fº. Because of its unusual tolerance for cold, this tree has been cloned and its offspring are a common hardy cultivar of Magnolia.
