History and Sustainable Features
1 - INTERNAL:
Sobral is a politically correct company. The products that are embellishing people and environments all over the world come from the love that we put on our work and on the people who execute it.
The Sobral Company offers to its staff:
*Physician at the place of work;
*Acupuncture;
*Massage service (Shiatsu);
*Saloon dance classes;
*Language courses (English, French, etc);
*Celebration of birthdays;
*Retirement plan;
*Help on the acquisition of a house.
2- EXTERNAL CONTRIBUTION:
The Sobral Company contributes to the community with:
Projeto D+ da conta: this project takes place at Museu da República, where poor youth learn, among other activities, to produce costume jewelry as a way to lead a productive life
Sobral also contributes to a day care center from the Chapeu Mangueira Community and the Feira da Providência of the archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro.
3 - ECOLOGY:
The Sobral Company donates to the COOP CARMO (cooperative of selective garbage collection) all its recyclable material.
The raw material that Sobral uses is polyester resin, which is a by-product of petroleum. The poetic objects created and manufactured by Sobral are often imitations of ivory, turtle, wood, amber, pearl and precious stones. In this way, Sobral helps to preserve the sources of these raw materials.
Sobral reuses its industrial waste in an extremely creative way: it is used in designs. Three of Sobral’s most important collections - pop-art, encapsulated and collages - are made this way.
