Berwyn Heights Community Garden

Overview

Berwyn Heights Community Garden is in Prince George's County, Maryland. The community garden enhances the residents’ quality of life by encouraging community involvement and learning about sustainable living. Residents are able to rent plots to grow fresh organic vegetables and fruits, which reduces their food budgets, improves their health, and increases their self-reliance. In order to become a community member, one must be a resident in Berwyn Heights, fill out an application, and pay a fee of $30. Once a member, one is able to attend classes and training sessions conducted by master gardeners and share resources such as seeds, compost, and tools with fellow members. The garden is also a great place for all residents in the community to enjoy and interact through events such as potlucks.
