University of Wales Trinity St.Davids, Mount Pleasant Campus gained university status in January 2008 but as an educational institution has developed a good reputation for it environmental policies and practices. It has gained recognition and awards for its work on energy management, environmental campaigns, travel planning and sustainability curriculum development. It has the lowest energy and water usage amongst HE institutions in Wales and has improved it recycling rates considerably over the past few years. It has also recently achieved Fairtrade University status. The University runs courses in Environmental Conservastion and Environmental Management and encourages its students to get actively involved in all aspects of improving the University's environmental performance.
