At 120,000 acres, the Sierra Valley rivals Lake Tahoe in size and is considered one of California’s natural wonders. Here form the headwaters of the Middle Fork of the Feather River, one of the most important water resources in the state of California, and the Valley’s wetlands support the greatest concentration and diversity of waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors, and other birds in the northern Sierra Nevada.
