Buxton Woods Nature Trail
Overview
This three-quarter-mile trail runs through the Buxton Woods maritime forest. Informational signs about the forest ecosystem are posted along the trail. The trail offers views of Jennette's Sedge, a naturally occuring freshwater pond.
Part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, the trail is located past the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on the right side of the road. Look for a parking area with picnic tables.
