The Bluewater District School Board currently has 18,659 students in 42 elementary schools and 11 secondary schools. The board employs about 3,500 permanent and casual staff. There are 9 elected Trustees on the Board and two appointed First Nations Trustees.

Bluewater students and staff are recognized at the provincial and national levels in the arts, science, athletics, language, the environment and the skilled trades. French Immersion is offered in 14 schools in the district and 3 schools offer First Nations languages as a second language.

The Institute for Outdoor Education and Environmental Studies (IOEES) offers a full roster of high quality, curriculum-driven environmental education experiences for students of Bluewater District School Board. Each year, roughly 4,000 students experience the outdoors on their 130 hectare site and the surrounding UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

As an integral partner with the communities it serves, Bluewater DSB actively promotes use of the schools for recreation, health and wellness, night school and summer school programs. Affordable rates and friendly, efficient staff create full-service community schools to the benefit of all.

Bluewater District School Board serves an area 8,763 square kilometres in size and is defined by the borders of Bruce and Grey Counties.
