Thought to have been a waiting station of the Underground Railroad, the site was home to Isaac T. Hopper, a Quaker businessman, who was a vice-president of the railroad.

NOW:
With no signage to mark this landmark, it is impossible for others to know what this building once used to be, but that is exactly what the Women's Prison Association has intended since 1874 when it became their distinctive shelter and home for women. Though appearing to be neglected from the outside, it is a home on the inside for 16 women.
