Totonno’s is known for its lines out the door, longevity, and delicious food. The pizza has been made the same since 1924, and is considered among the best in the country by many food critics. Many say that Totonno’s pizza has that “quintessential New York City flavor profile.” The pizzeria fills up with locals as well as people from the five boroughs, New Jersey, and Long Island. After having to close due to a fire for nearly a year, the pizzeria later was flooded by Hurricane Sandy. After reopening each time, their success continues and their pizza remains delicious. It is well known for its irregular hours, too. They are open Thursday through Sunday. Being that some have stated Totonno’s pizza to be the best in the world, the fact that Zagat has voted it’s Pizza the best in New York City should be enough to convince anyone to give it a try.
