Situated in north-east Swansea, Swansea Vale Nature Reserve is one of the few remaining areas of wetland in the region. Discover the flora and fauna of woodland, rivers, ponds and marsh along the footpaths and bike paths. Schools, colleges and universities can use the Reserve for a range of studies, and there are opportunities for volunteers to help with management of the reserve.

A SINC is a Site of Interest for Nature Conservation, of regional importance. SINCs provide an essential network of habitats to help maintain and conserve biodiversity. A cSINC is an area that is being considered for SINC designation and there are currently 5 cSINC's in the Swansea area.
The Reserve is managed for wildlife and people by the City and County of Swansea's Nature Conservation Team, with the help of local people, volunteers and school children.
The Nature Conservation Team aims to protect, enhance and raise awareness of areas of ecological and landscape importance within the City and County of Swansea for the benefit of people and wildlife. The Team is dedicated to the conservation of Swansea's natural assets and plays an increasingly importance role in protecting Swansea's diverse range of habitats, flora and fauna. This resource is often taken for granted yet it contributes significantly to Swansea's economy and vibrancy making Swansea such a special place to live, work and visit.
