Lower Swansea Valley Woods

No votes yet

This is a large conifer plantation that was planted in the 1960s and 1970s as part of the Lower Swansea Valley Project to regenerate and green the industrial dereliction of the whole valley area.
It is bounded by main roads and the main Swansea/London railway and contains a short length of leisure railway, which is only used a few times a year. Within the site are many grassy glades, areas of broadleaved regeneration and wetland areas. Immediately adjacent is Pluck Lake that is important for its variety of dragonfly species.

Access Via underpass on Jersey Road (B5444)
