Challenges:

—Crosswalks are not well-marked
—Speed of vehicles, especially busses, is intimidating for pedestrians
—There is no safe biking accommodation
—Curb radii are not close to 90 degrees; Curb needs to be built out especially at the Northeast corner of Central and Mechanics
—Missing marked crosswalk
—Vehicles encroach on crosswalk/pedestrian space
—Vehicles move too quickly
—At Broadway and Washington (Posca Service Center) sidewalk has no curb
—Traffic is threatening at Central Avenue entrance/exit to Mrs. Green’s parking lot
—Cars at 34 Central Avenue (Auto Body Shop) often block sidewalk
—Lack of street trees, especially west of Washington avenue

Opportunities:

—Add speed bumps or other traffic calming measure to Mrs. Greens/CVS parking lot entrance
—Possibly make Central Avenue one way (opposite of Wildey) and add bike lane
—Add street trees west of Washington
