水井 Well

概览

林姓屋主說井齡約52年，當年房屋一再遷移（真的是搬房子），至此定居後所挖鑿。當時中洲寮地區約有五、六口井，這並不是最古老的一個。夏日傍晚及飯後是井邊最熱鬧的時刻，男人們光著上身、穿著內褲，帶著換洗的褲子、臉盆、毛巾、肥皂，就在井邊洗澡，之後又把內褲洗乾淨帶回家晾，為的是省卻提水回家的不便。自來水普及後，其他口井陸續填平，這口井是僅存的一個，現在女主人利用井水種植蔬菜瓜果。

Land lord Mr. Lin said the well is about 52 years old. Their family used to move around until they decided to stay and dig the well. At that time, there were about six wells in the Jhong Jhou Liao area. This well was not the oldest one. The wells were always bustling with noises after dinner time and in summer evenings. The men would take showers next to the well since it was much more convenient. If they were to bath at home, they had to bail water out of the well and carry it home. After the development of public water supply, most of the wells were leveled up, leaving only this old well behind. The current owner uses the well for planting vegetables and fruits.
