Socialreformer Halle--281 Grand Street
Descripción
The Social Reform Association (Socialreformer Halle) was founded in 1845 by a group of exiles led by Hermann Kriege. Herman was spurned by Marx--because of his association with the American Democrats. The Halle was based here throughout the 1960s. It became home to trade union activity and a newspaper (Soziale Republik). Eventually people joined to enjoy drinking parties, sporting events, lectures, theatricals, parades, picnics etc.
