Lumpkin County Elementary is the oldest of the three elementary schools. The school can accomodate 800 students and currently has approximately 600 students attending. It serves the central part of the county (district 1), and parts of distict 4 in the northern part of the county.

The Lumpkin County Elementary School is very enthusiastic towards the “going green initiative.” Whenever they have the ability, the school tries it’s best to make the best eco-friendly decisions. It is a clean school and learning is encouraged across the spectrum.
Ways they have been eco-friendly include:Recycle paper, cardboard, plastic materials via Lumpkin County Recycling Program,Use air dryers in restrooms, Working towards installing energy efficient equipment such as bulbs, Napkins and foam trays are made from recycled products, Email notifications instead of flyers
