Situated in the Cairns Botanic Gardens precinct, just 4km north of the city’s CBD, the Tanks Arts centre is an iconic and innovative, multi-use, contemporary arts facility creatively housed in three converted World War 2 naval oil storage tanks, and set amidst a lush rainforest backdrop.

Tanks combines two main functions, that of a ‘presenter’ organisation offering a range of arts and cultural events and activities to a mixed audience, and a community cultural development organisation which aims to proactively engage local communities in cultural expression and participation.

Did you know that you have a few options when travelling to Tanks. Whether you are attending an evening show, exploring the Art Gallery in Tank 4, participating in one of the many workshops held at Tanks or enjoying our monthly Market Days, there are many ways to get you here.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING: 3 accessible car parks can be found directly in front of the Main Entrance to Tanks Arts Centre (in front of Tank 4); and 1 on Collins Avenue in front of Wild Bean Café.
